TREX AI, an artificial intelligence event aimed at businesses, will take place in Tampere on Thursday, 29 October. Held at Komediateatteri Palatsi, the event will focus particularly on how companies can make practical use of AI and integrate it into their business operations. The event is aimed especially at CEOs, entrepreneurs, management teams and other decision-makers from growth-oriented SMEs. Participants are not expected to have in-depth technical expertise in AI. The event programme will be held in Finnish.
The programme will feature expert talks and panel discussions covering topics such as AI agents, the implementation of AI strategies and the use of artificial intelligence in different types of organisations. According to the organisers, the event will focus above all on practical examples of how AI can be used to develop business operations. In addition to the talks, time has been set aside for networking and a shared dinner.
AI and business experts among the keynote speakers
Doors at TREX AI will open at 12 noon, with the main programme beginning an hour later. The programme includes four keynote speeches, two panel discussions and two presentations by event partners. The event will be hosted by Sanna Salovaara.
The first keynote will be delivered by AI entrepreneur and algorithmic influence expert Mikko Alasaarela, who will discuss AI agents and the opportunities they offer. Maria Niiniharju, Chief AI Growth Officer at Siili Solutions, will explore how artificial intelligence can be integrated into a company’s business operations. Karoliina Kettukari, Chief AI Officer at OP Pohjola, will discuss the implementation of AI strategy and how the use of AI can be scaled across a large organisation. The fourth keynote speaker is Pekka Abrahamsson, Professor of Software Engineering at Tampere University. His research examines the impact of generative and agentic AI on systems, including from the perspectives of trust, autonomy and strategic resilience.
In addition to the keynote speeches, the programme includes two panel discussions. Participants include Jone Korpi, founder and Head of AI at Revial; Timo Erkkilä, CEO of Veracell; Mikael Juntunen, founder of Catapult International and Innopipe; and Timo Savolainen, founder of 4.Aalto. One of the panels will take the form of a debate round in which panellists have one minute to argue their position on a given statement. The audience will then vote for the panellist who made the most convincing case.
Companies making use of AI will be recognised at the event
The programme also includes the TREX AI Awards, which will be presented in two categories. The TREX AI Pioneer award will go to a company that has renewed its operations and used artificial intelligence to create new value. The TREX AI Impact award will recognise an AI innovation with the potential to transform the market, solve a real-world problem and create value for customers.
The awards are intended to highlight concrete examples of how artificial intelligence is already being used in business. They will recognise both companies that have successfully integrated AI into their operations and new solutions based on artificial intelligence.
Following the awards ceremony, the programme will conclude with a summary of the day and closing remarks. The official event ends at 8 p.m., after which participants can continue the evening at Teerenpeli on Hämeenkatu.
